This beautiful early antique framed 3D picture of a old sailing boat or clipper is totally scratch built and made from wood and paper, probably by some doting father or grandfather, as the main boat is called `Little Jim`, please view photos and I just hope they do this wonderful picture justice.The picture is an early diorama with a number of materials used:Other than the wood for the hulls of the two main boats and their sails, with paper for their flags. Metal/lead appears... to have been used for the two smaller Naval looking ships, with very thin metal thread for the rigging and the island is actually made from wood and I am not exactly sure what the lighthouse is made fromUpon looking at the photos please note the back with its layers of gloss paint and the simple hook used for hanging, (Great!)In my opinion the glass does look of some age, though I cant see any air bubbles, but from the side it appears to be like a wavy effect as if it were not straight, however it is. II hope that makes sense?The whole piece measures 22.5" long x 15.5" tall x 3.5" deep
