DESCRIPTION: A group of 3 Chinese Tang Dynassty Changsha glazed pottery toy whistles & a Five Dynasties small glazed pottery oil lamp. 2 whistles are in bird form: 1 in brown glaze & 1 in bluish-celadon like glaze with brown glaze on the head. The third one is in animal form with chestnut-light brown glaze, possibly a dog. The brown bird is not hollowed, possibly an unfinished piece or other kind of toy altogether. The small tripod oil lamp is in liver-beige-brown glaze... with green-brown spots, & with a small short handle. Base with a collector's label with seal. SIZE: Whistles approx. 2 to 2.75 inches long, & 2 to 2.25 inches tall. Oil lamp approx. 3 3/8 inches in diameter & 2.75 inches tall including the handle. CONDITION: Whistles are all in great condition, no damage. The oil lamp's handle tip is “chipped” & “lost”. But because of the patina, probably it was a firing fault that adhered to something after firing & break from rough removal from kiln. Otherwise in good condition. All with the usual age & manufacturing flaws as expected from pieces over a thousand years, such as wears, scratches, nicks, rubs, minor glaze loss, etc. SHIPPING:
