Original Description:
A WELL FORMED 19th CENTURY CHINESE OR JAPANESE BOTTLE VASE. IT IS OF CHINESE FORM AND COLOUR BUT HAS BEEN OVERLAID AT SOME POINT WITH PROBABLY GESSO AND SILVER DECORATION IN THE JAPANESE TASTE WHICH HAS LEFT A LUSTROUS IMPRESSION IN THE GLAZE OF BIRDS AND FOLIAGE. IT HAS TWO SMALL BLISTER MARKS IN THE GLAZE AND I WONDER IF THIS WAS WHY IT WAS DECORATED IN ORDER TO COVER THESE IMPERFECTIONS. OTHERWISE GOOD CONDITION 9.5" HIGH approx.
