The rod is immaculate and looks to be in mint condition. The only flaw I can find is very light scratching at the butt plate (from handling and storage/moving). It has never been fished. The serial # is 57051, which was the first model/production run of its particular series (rare to find). It was made/completed on May 11, 1970 by Ron White. Ferrule size 13.
My father had an obsession with sic guides, and would immediately send his Orvis rods back to Charlie Hisey at the Orvis bambo...o rod shop to have the original guides replaced. All replacement work was done by Orvis. The rod weighs 4.48 oz with either tip. Both tips weigh .78 oz.
The reel seat is particularly beautiful on this rod and looks fantastic. The rod comes with the original sleeve and a nice Orvis carrying tube (pictured). All will be very well protected during shipping.
