This listing is for an exceptional 19th century Ottoman hand embroidered textile panel. The panel displays the work of a master artist with beautiful calligraphy and detailed work all over. Flowers and buildings are finely embroidered in between the various bits Turkish calligraphy.
This panel would have been used for prayer and most likely would have hung on a wall. The word “Allah” can be seen in the center of the panel.
Many of the bright original colors remain intact, whi...ch is unusual for similar pieces of this age. There are a few areas of damage/repair as to be expected for its age (see photos).
The panel measures about 69 inches tall by 15 inches wide.
