This is a Mosler, double door, floor safe from the late 1800's. It was manufactured in Cincinnati, OH and our family is the original owner. Our grandfather was a jeweler and this safe is from his jewelry shop. The safe features all original detailing inside and out. The combination lock works, albeit, it has its own personality. :) Once the safe is opened with a combination lock, there's an interior compartment with a locking mechanism as well; this is controlle...d by an antique key. (The safe may be sitting on an uneven surface so we can't close the inside doors completely but this should work fine once it sits on a level surface.) The safe measures 80” H x 62” W x 34.5” D. The double doors are 54.5" wide. The safe also sits on casters and is extremely heavy; you will need professional movers to move the safe.Moving arrangements will be the responsibility of the buyer so we have priced this piece with that in consideration. Our research indicates an average cost to move a safe locally is ~$300. The safe sits in a large manufacturing plant with concrete floors and dock doors; we also have forklifts to load the save onto a dock high truck or moving vehicle.Similar safes have sold on eBay for $2, 700 to $3, 000. This is an old, working safe that would be an excellent specimen for reconditioning. We will accept the highest offer we get and at the price we've listed, it will go quick. Again, the local pick-up or shipping arrangements need to be made by the buyer!
