The photos have been taken in a mix of bright autumn sunshine streaming through a window, and being held over another lampshade containing a lit bulb. The strange light and dark objects grasping the top of the shades are just my fingers - while the other hand ...grapples with the camera...
NB Both shades are in superb condition. One is immaculate (zero faults to report); the other has some 'fleabites' to the top edge of the shade (where it has been connected to electrical fittings for many decades). They are a pair but because they are made of blown glass, there are tiny differences between them - the main one being that one of the shades has is thicker at the top edge, and it is the thinner one that has gathered the 'fleabites'. The shades are super-clean, unscratched - and ready for an excellent new home
Because the shades are, by their nature, undulating handmade objects the measurements aren't quite as clinically accurate as for other items - and will include a bit of description...
Length (given that the wavy rim is not the same length all the way round, I have given the maximum - using a straight not curved line): 5 1/2"
Width (the same conditions as for the length, but there is more variation, so I have given a maximum range): 5 1/4" - 5 1/2"
Top aperture: as this is blown glass, the circles are not absolutely perfect; the shade with the thicker glass at the aperture has an inside measurement of 1 3/4" and the other shade has an inside measurement of 2". The actual thickness of the glass at this point is a little over 1/8" on the thicker one and 1/16" on the thinner one
