This is day two of this Extraordinary estate sale, one of the greatest auctions we have held in 15 years. This sale features an incredible array of investment grade Ming and Pre-Ming ceramics, items that are very hard to find today. We offered a small portion of this collection a couple months ago that brought substantial int...erest. There will be important silver, glass, watches, jewelry, etc. coming up from the collection very soon. Up for auction is a INCREDIBLE LARGE CHINESE EASTERN HAN DYNASTY GREEN GLAZED MASK HANDLE VASE. This vase is an amazing Han dynasty period example. We have never seen such an example with the green glaze still so intact and richly done. The vase is large and impressive.
Vase has great provenance as seen with card (including many other items in the sale) where originally purchased from the estate of Professor Peter Greiner of Chicago. Prof. Greiner specialized in collecting Ming and Pre Ming ceramics and lent several examples of his collection (including this vase) to institutions and Museums throughout the years. Several items from this collection have come up for auction at the Higher end auctions over the years. I doubt you would find another one of this size and investment grade quality any time soon. Offered without reserve!
Condition: Minor glaze imperfections and chips consistent with early age. Overall very fine unaltered condition (finest we have seen for this age). All items checked under UV light to ensure no hidden damage.
Size: 18 inches tall, by 14 inches wide.
