Item History & Price

Information:
Reference Number: Avaluer:19414338Tribal Affiliation: Blackfeet
Original Description:
Very rare and original, ca1880’s Native American Plains / Blackfoot Indian Hand Made, Knapped Flint Tipped Arrow. This outstanding, 19th century Plains Indian Arrow measures approx. 29" long including its hand knapped stone Arrowhead.
This finely crafted Arrow features a v-shaped notch (known as nocks) at the back end that would fit over the string of the Bow and minimal remnants of the original three feathers which were attached with sinew wraps to the f...letching (wraps are lacking). The Stone Arrowhead measures approx. 1 3/4" long and was reattached a long time ago to the shaft of the Arrow using thin waxed twine. The form of the point is a flattened, spade shape.
This arrow and one other which we are offering for sale this week on eBay, came to us identified as Blackfoot – we can not be 100% sure of the Tribal origin of this outstanding artifact, however it is most definitely a Plains Arrow and an exceptional, 19th century example.
The Native American Indian Arrow offered here is unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. It is NOT a reproduction or modern recreation but an original Native American Plains Indian Arrow crafted in the 4th quarter of the 19th century. The Arrow and Arrowhead come with our “no questions asked” return privilege and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. It is guaranteed to be deemed authentic, original and as described by any qualified third party authentication service.
This very rare and original, ca1880’s Native American Plains / Blackfoot Indian Arrow is in good to very good condition. The shaft is sound and strong with do damage or repairs. As stated above, the Arrow retains only minimal remnants of the three feathers that were attached to the fletching. The Arrow also lacks the sinew wraps that held the feathers in place. The Knapped Flint Arrowhead is very well preserved as can also be seen in the scans below but is lacks the original sinew wrap that attached – the sinew wrap has been replaced a long time ago with a twine wrap.
A very rare and original, ca1880’s Native American Plains Indian Arrow with original Stone Arrowhead attributed to the Blackfoot people and a fantastic addition to any collection!!!

Important Notes about Shipping Charges: The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.ATTENTION FRIENDS!!!We are pleased to announce the start up of a second weekly auction by WALNUTTS-2.0!!!
