About this jersey...
This auction is for a New York Mets Game Used Jersey, worn by the former ace of their pitching staff, JOHAN SANTANA. Santana played professional ball from 2000-2012, with the Minnesota Twins (2000-2007) and the New York Mets (2008-2012). Santana is a 2X Cy Young Award Winner (2...004, 2006), 4X All-Star (2005-2007, 2009), Gold Glove Award Winner (2007) and the author of the only no-hitter in New York Mets history (2012).
The jersey is a sharp royal blue pull-over jersey with black and orange highlights along the sides. Classic script Mets logo is heat pressed across the chest in 4 layers -- black, bordered by white, with an orange and white drop shadow. The black layer is heavily textured. The lower front corner of the jersey features a Majestic Performance Apparel patch. A holographic MLB authentication sticker is affixed to the patch, and contains the code "FJ 296248", which when looked up on the MLB website, it confirms that the jersey is team issued and that it was collected by MLB following the 2010 season (on October 9th, 2010).
The wash tag is located inside the jersey. A "Cool Base" tag and a size tag are sewn into the outer side of the jersey. The jersey is a size 50.
The back of the jersey contains the name SANTANA and a large #57 pressed on, in the same coplor scheme as the front -- black with a white outline, with an orange and white drop shadow.
The colors are bright and vibrant -- the jersey shows light use and is in fantastic condition. A great chance to add a jersey worn by an all-time Mets great to your collection!
