Original Description:
Up for auction today is a stunning and ultra rare medieval sword dating from the late 14th century and classified as an Oakeshott Type XVII sword. Size is 40 inches long overall with a handle of 8 1/2 inches and a guard of 8 1/4 inches.This particular one is a hand and a half or bastard sword which makes it even rarer than usual. It is in excavated condition but still has good edges and completely solid metal. I am unsure of its origin but I would guess German or French. These medieval... swords sell for thousands in Europe and UK so my starting price is very reasonable. Guaranteed original and of the period stated.
