Ota, Kichisaburo Signed Pair Meiji Japanese Silver Wire Cloisonne Enamel Vases
A very beautiful wonderfully shaped antique Rare Pair Meiji cloisonne vases. Rare to find a pair in this condition. A 'True' pair with scenes ( but different) of flowing wisteria with many birds. Colors are gorgeous purple and white flowers and more. Varying width silver wire detail is outstanding. Very fine detailed craftsmanship. The ground color is hig...h gloss mid-night blue. Very detailed top and bottom borders.
These vases exhibit very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship. From the Meiji Period, the cloison detail work in silver wire was certainly performed by a master of Japanese cloisonne.
Signed on the base with mark of Ota, Kichisaburo, known for very detailed cloison work. Truly a master of Japanese cloisonne. Look closely.
These antique vases are in excellent original condition. No cracks, repairs, or dents. One has what I would call a couple flea bites, about pencil point size, on the shoulder. Not measurable or able to photo. Very small, but mentioned for completeness. No impact on quality or display. Some normal wear to base. Vases display very beautifully. The recurring white spot is flash off high gloss finish.
Approximate size is 5" tall.
Please see photos as an integral part of this description. Sometimes the camera catches what I don't. Please ask any questions before bidding. From my own personal collection, these fine vases would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection.
All reasonable offers considered. Please ask any questions before bidding.
Please check my other auctions. I often list fine cloisonne, but I am cleaning house, so who knows what you will find.
Please pay or confirm your purchase within 48 hours of close of auction. Buy it Nows pay immediately. I pack very promptly and securely. Combined shipping offered as appropriate, please ask.
Thank you.
