An antique Civil War era silver plate snuff box, circa 1860. This oval box was made by C. Parker Co., a major supplier of snuffboxes, toiletry boxes, glasses cases, etc. to the Union troops during the American Civil War. The box features a vine and leaf pattern surrounding a blank medallion cartouche on its hinged lid, with button clasp closure. The base is inscribed, “C. Parker Pat. Jan. 24, 1860”.
