Antique Vintage Battenburg Lace Tablecloth 54" Round With Center Embroidery
This 1890's battenburg lace round table topper was made by hand stitching together plain cloth pre-made tapes into stylized floral and geometric patterns with threads simply twisted together like spider-like decorations formed by weaving over and under threads arranged like a spoke of a wheel. This Victorian battenburg linen measures 54" in diameter and is in excellent condition with no hol...es in the linen, and the lace is in tact with no seam separations, no stains and laundered, starched and pressed. Any discoloration in photos is shade and or camera flash.
A lot of skillful work went into the construction of this piece. The center is embellished with hand embroidery and buttonhole cut work. This exquisite table topper will enhance any table setting and would look lovely on your holiday table.
