Pilot 654 Stereo FM Multiplex Amplifier Tuner. 30 watts per channel. Made around 1962. Gold faced unit, with the trim around the face starting to fade, but still an attractive piece of equipment. The vinyl on the side panel is starting to peel at the bottom. It appears to have all the original knobs which are in very good shape, good clean glass and no deep dings to the case. The dial moves freely and I think most all the lights are working. Many features and controls, I checked it for... sound from both channels using my phone. I could not get anything from the FM tuner, perhaps it needs more of an antenna, but I think it should have given some indication of a station, the tuning eye comes on, but does not change when dialing. The 7591 tubes appear to be GE, I did not check the others. I also did not do any work on it or even take the cabinet off -- it is unmolested. Likely dusty, certainly needs some work done to make it fully operational, but a rare piece of stereo hi fi. Sold as is for restoration, no returns are offered. It is extremely heavy and will be expensive to ship, but I will pack it well and will likely be using Fedex.
