Thisis yet another beautiful set of original, not restored, not repainted (or eventouched up) classic 1970's California Year Of Manufacture blue & yellowplates we are currently offering here on Grandma's Attic Store.Ifyour classic model year is 1980 then these are ready to go, but the CADMV willaccept these for registering ANY year CAR model between 1970 and 1980...yousimply need a registration sticker ...that is the SAME year as the classic car youwish to register these to. For exampleif your model year is 1980 then you MUST have a 1980 registration sticker inthe right sticker panel. You canpurchase other year stickers (YOM Stickers) from 40fordsteve here on Ebay. You do NOT need to purchase a new"Month" sticker, CADMV will issue you one.Guidanceon how to register these via California'sYear of Manufacture Program is available at the very bottom of this section, which is based on my research and provided as a courtesy only.CONDITION:

How to register these through California's Year of Manufacture Program:
1. Purchase license plates from a reputable seller (like me) that are the appropriate base plate colors and alpha numeric format for what you want to register them to: blue & yellow base plates with 000 AAA sequence for passenger vehicle (car). Make sure they are "CLEAR" before you buy, by calling California Department of Motor Vehicles 800/777-0133. PERSONALIZED or VANITY PLATES are NOT ELIGIBLE for YOM REGISTRATION.
2. If your car is any other year than the sticker(s) affixed to your back plate, purchase a registration (YOM) sticker that matches the same year as the classic car you wish to register these to. These plates can be registered to a car model year between 1970 and 1980 ONLY. I purchase my YOM stickers from 40fordsteve here on Ebay.
Helpful hint: after you peel off the sticker backing dip the registration sticker in soapy water THEN affix it to the plate. The soapy water allows you to move the sticker around to get it straight, blot with a dry towel.
3. Take a close-up color picture of the front plate and of the back plate, print two copies.
4. Go to dmv.ca.gov, complete reg352 form "Application for YOM Registration", print two copies.
5. Go to dmv.ca.gov Online Services and make an appointment.
6. Keep one copy of the completed application and one copy of the photos for your records.
Bring to your appointment:
1. Completed and signed reg 352 form "Application for YOM Registration" (original)
2. $45.00
3. These awesome license plates, one with the appropriate YOM sticker
4. The printed color photos or color photocopies of these plates
5. The original pink slip to your classic car
6. The current or most recent registration paperwork of your classic car
7. The current Proof of Insurance card
AND
8. The current license plates on your classic car. If the current plates are vanity or personalized plates then go ahead and bring them but do not let DMV confiscate them, they belong to you. Sequential plates belong to the vehicle, those get turned in.
You should receive your new pink slip, new month sticker and current year registration sticker along with 2 metal tabs in the mail within 2 to 3 weeks
I've been asked if the new month and year stickers could just be placed over the old month sticker and over the YOM sticker so the plates look like they've always been on the vehicle...good question. I've been told the new stickers are to be placed on the metal tabs provided by the DMV. You should definitely ask the DMV rep what their interpretation is. Good luck!
