This is a Japanese sword yari spear in shirosaya mountings. The blade is signed "Kawachi-no kami Kanesada saku 河内守包定作", ryochiri yari shape, Edo period ca.1700 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows light stains but no rust and in good condition. The temper line is wavy notare with ko-nie active tem...per pattern and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight masame-hada, no openings, no blister and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. It is rested in ho-wood shirosaya mountings, no dent, no crack and in good condition. It measures 5+7/8" tip to the neck, 19 mm width, 7 mm thickness at the notch and 19" in mountings.
