What a whimsically, detailed winter wonder we have here! Showcased for your bidding consideration is this antique German bisque figural group of two Victorian snowbaby children riding a sleigh, with a rarely seen molded bearskin rug as a lap blanket! This piece is so appealing, especially for the avid doll collector that likes to create little holiday scenes with their antique miniature dolls and Christmas treasures. A snowy mantle-scape would be just the place to group German bisque s...nowbabies and snowmen, little trees and Santa figurines. This antique figurine measures roughly 5 1/2” long by just under 5” high. It features a boy and a girl dressed in their winter finery out for a brisk sleigh ride. Note the detail and exceptional painting of the bearskin lap rug keeping the children warm. The sleigh itself is cream colored, with raised gold dot highlights. Details of the children’s pastel clothing have been picked out with gilding as well. The boy with his outstretched arm is a wonder in his own right, if you will consider that there are no breaks or damages to this intricate piece!In the last photo I show two more bisque figurines of excellent quality, from the same collector’s estate.
