Antique mid-late 1800's James Dixon & Sons(Sheffield, England) large heavily silverplated footed and lidded soup tureen. Measures 17 1/2" long(back of handle to back of handle) x 9" wide x 10 1/2" height(to top of handle on lid). The tureen is in very nice condition with no dings or dents and only modest wear. Some minor silver loss to the interior base. Not a big deal. Any dark spots on the outside of tureen are merely reflections. Aesthetic motif around the midsection remains cri...sp and well defined. The tureen stands solid of 4 curled toe feet. No monograms or inscriptions. Enlarge all pics for best details. Starts low with no reserve.
