The relatively straightforward construction methods made them ideal for production in quantity for the armies of the emergent states of Europe and elsewhere. Derartige Helme waren in der nachrömischen Welt bis ins späte Mittelalter europaweit verbreitet. Die relativ unkomplizierten Bauweisen machten sie ideal für die Massenproduktion für die Armeen der aufstrebenden Staaten Europas und anderswo.
