The quality of the Enameling is absolutely masterful. The detailing is crisp, solid and the lettering is easy to read. With its vivid and harmonious warm Red, Blue and Gold colors with intricate interwoven symbolic design, it resembles an ancient mystical treasure. This is a beautiful part of history. The Jewel is attached to a chain of later years which we were told was gold plated. This item was made to be worn. Unlike the massive 33rd Degree Jewels that cost up into the thousands, this is a very and genuine fine antique 33rd Degree gem that can be worn leisurely and at anytime desired. In fact this type of 33rd Jewel is rarer than the more elaborate ones, as it was only made only in earlier times. The Jewel measures approximately 1 ½ x 1 ½ inches. In very good vintage condition with only some normal expected minor wear. No problems. Over 100 years old!
