This is a rare, Vintage 1979 Marlboro 1st year Star and Steer Brass Zippo. This Marlboro Steer is rare, as he has No HAIR! 1979 was the first year Zippo released the Marlboro Star and Steer! And 1979 was the only year the Steer had no hair on his head! Compare him to the other years and you’ll see what we mean.
This is a nice lighter. Has some fading and scratches. It looks and works great! Has a nice, tight hinge. Has a nice sounding “click” when it’s opened. I decided not ...to polish the lighter or scratches out of this lighter, like I normally do, as the patina on the brass looks very nice, and some people like this aged look.
This Star and Steer comes in the original Marlboro Country Store Box. The box is worn, but in good condition. This is a no reserve auction.
All of our lighters are cleaned and adjusted before they are shipped. All you need to do is add lighter fluid if you so desire.
We do not ship our lighters with lighter fluid in them. Even though we do not ship them with fluid, please use caution when children are around as they may still light. Also use caution around combustibles. They are lighters and they may be/are flammable.
