This is a nice SOUTH BEND rod, fishable as is. The only thing with this is that one of the tip guides is missing, but the good news is the tip is NOT snapped or broken off. All of the sections are the same length and arrow straight. The varnish is good as the day it was put on and the cane itself appears to have a nice flamed finish. All the wraps are tight, nothing needs to be redone except for the one tip. The cork is in good condition, the person who fished ...this rod knew how to use the hook keeper! Rolled ferrules go together nicely and pop coming apart. Well taken care of, probably a 1950s or 60s era rod. The original sock is in very nice shape, with no holes or tears. The original tube and screw-on cap are in good shape, could be better but it is as old as I and the same could be said for me.
