These are vintage hand held shears. This style is the same style that is still used to remove wool from sheep. People advertise these as garden shears they were not designed to be gardening shears but you could use them like that.
Every farm had sheep for their warm fiber and to be able to remove that wool fiber ...you had to have these shears.
I shear sheep with an electric clipper but this type of shear can also be used its just a little slower
