We noted that two of the forks have slightly different scrolling, with slightly fancier engraving -- could be that those are M...a and Pa's forks; and their nine children get plainer versions because they should be seen but not heard, don't deserve nice things, and should be down at the textile factory using their tiny fingers to earn their own money to buy nice forks.
Making this vintage set more rare is that the knives have a silverplate stamp of EMD and ES. "ES" means electroplated silver, but an exhaustive search turns up no record of a stamp with "EMD". One forum suggested this might be the E. M. Dickinson company, which filed operated in Sheffield, England from 1889-1923. E.M. Dickinson entered their mark 'E.M.D' contained within an oblong punch, with the Sheffield Assay Office on the 13th December 1900.
They are pretty, and they are for rich people to eat fish. You should buy them, and some fish.
