Please Read Condition Description Above......circa 1800s....Exceptional, finely detailed pure silk cut velvet trim fragment on a linen-like base....French in origin.  It is very difficult in finding this type of velvet, being a collector of silk velvet for at least two decades....it is a must for the collector  - one will treasure this.  It is superb in every way...delicate and pliable with substance....finely etched, slightly raised, gorgeous design in rich colors...........of the utmost quality.   One must have this in hand to fully appreciate its beauty...luxuriously soft to the touch...much better in person.

This measures approximately 18" x 6.5".
