“The DS-7 was a Fuji digital camera from the dawn of the digital camera era, circa 1996. Resolution is 640 x 480 pixels in standard mode (0.3 megapixels) and images are saved to SmartMedia cards. The f/2.2 lens does not zoom but has a three-position ...focus control –including a macro setting for subjects 3.5 to 5.1 inches (9 to 13cm) away. There is also a manual option to change the lens aperture to f/8.0 when brighter scenes would exceed the auto exposure limits when using f/2.2. The DS-7 is easy to pop into a pocket, ready to capture any subject in any light, right down to macro. The colour LCD viewfinder shows exactly what the lens is viewing - just as a single lens reflex camera's finder does - but additionally allows captured images to be displayed immediately. The SmartMedia SSFDC (Solid State Floppy Disk Card) image memory card is not much bigger than a piece of 35mm film, 37 x 45 x 0.75mm (1.75 x 1.56 x 0.03 inches) thick and is very easy to insert into the camera. The card slots into a PC card adaptor, which in turn slots into the PC card slot on a laptop or desktop computer. The camera images are saved as standard PC format JPEGs, which can be opened directly from Adobe Photoshop without the unnecessary additional encumbrance of camera-specific acquisition software.”
