This is a beautifully shaped antique 19th century solid brass lock escutcheon.
I am uncertain as to exactly how old it is, but I’m sensing it may be mid 19th century.
It measures 2 13/16 inches high x 2 7/8 inches wide (7.14 cm x 7.3 cm).
The piece has tiny dings and scratches to the finish. There are areas with dark tarnishing. It was probably cleaned numerous times over the years, as you can still... see some of the cleaner along the edges.
There are no nails or screws with it.
