R[eros]S in exergue*.*eros is Greek for amor, which is Roma spelled backwards. Someone at the mint was being clever.
Licinius reigned from 308-324 A.D.Originally part of the tetrarchy, (the division of the empire into 4separate regions, each with its own ru...ler) his war against and ultimatedefeat by Constantine the Great marked the temporary reunification ofthe empire, which lasted only until Constantine’s death.
