This hymn is Lead Kindly Light the words have been rewritten or should I say completely changed by Dr. Laurence Rentoul for our Australian soldiers who were heading off to war.:-
L...ead Kindly Light
Thou who hast all thy people in thy sight, To thee we comeBe thou their guide, their comfort, and their lightAfar from home:Keep thou their souls in steadfastness and rightRemember Lord Australia’s sons tonightGone from the humble cottage in the dell, From home sweet home:Gone from the loved ones they love so wellTo face the stormGone from the mansion to defend the rightRemember Lord Australia’s sons tonightSons are now dying, ‘tis the cost of war, Have mercy LordWilt thou prepare them as they cross the bar?Have mercy LordBurst forth death’s gloom by Heaven’s celestial lightRemember Lord Australia’s sons tonightBe thou their refuge in their darkest hourBe thou their stayStretch forth thy hand, show thine almighty power, In thine own wayThou did’st on Galilee reveal thy mightOh comfort Lord, Australia’s sons tonight.
