This rare medal (along with several others) were foundpreserve in frozen mud near where there was once a Colonial JesuitMission. The medal is on consignment for auction to help a Catholic communityof nuns. The medal is 7/8 inches long, and it weighs 3 grams ofbronze. It retains its original bail, and it can be worn if desired. All our listed items are original Christian devotionals.Some may have been cleaned or polished before their arrival, by their lastcaretaker. Their us...e is for personal devotion. This medal is 1.5 inches long, weighs 10 grams of bronze and dates from the 18th century. This medals datingcan be confirmed on pages 2 & 3 of the book AN INTRODUCTION TO RELIGIOUSMEDALS, by Bob Forrest, and published by NUMISMATICA INTERNATIONAL in 2004.
