Check out Dai Nippon Military Antiques medal website for INSTANT PURCHASES of medals!A passbook (soldier ID) for a Japanese Army Sergeant along with his later photo ID. The passbook shows little actual service, with entries from 1922-3. However, we can see his rank progression, with the previous ranks crossed out: private, private 1st class, superior private, corporal, sergeant. The soldier's name was Kitamura Yujiro and he was born in 1902. His hometown was in Sag Prefecture..., and he belonged to the 18th Division. The photo ID shows that he was in an instructor academy in 1941, at the age of 39 (which seems a bit old for a student, but...).
