A delightful and charming vintage French toile fabric designed by Marius Boudin. Pattern is " Le Signe et Austrich" or "The Monkey and Ostrich". Upholstery weight in a beautiful color mix of jungle green on a tan linen ground. Wonderful scene of the Africa plains or desert, with tall fruit and palm trees in which play an array of monkeys and exotic birds of paradise. The central figure and star is a gorgeous large male ostrich running, b...eing hunted by a man on horseback and pack of dogs. I know he gets away! Lovely designs throughout the pattern. Hard to find. Linen, or cotton linen blend. Unused, this is all I have of this textile. Measures 53" wide and this is for two full yards in one continuous length.or TWO yards 12" in one continuous length. Left over from a project from long ago, no selvages but has been neatly cut and is clean and well stored, comes from a smoke free home. A friend of mine identified the pattern for me and I looked it up online to verify. This is for TWO YARDS. A charming fabric for millinery display as well. Thank you for looking. .
