An antique primitive oil painting of a winter landscape. There is a snow-covered country church with parishioners heading up the pathway to the service. The doorway and windows of the church are lit with a yellow hue. Condition is good for its age, although the sturdy frame has some scratches with missing paint (see picture).
This piece was from my mother's private collection. She was an antique dealer who specialized in primitive folk art and furniture.... I believe this painting is circa early 1800s. My mom said that the frame is quite valuable on its own because of it's intricate hand-painted pattern.
