WW2 Rare 291st Combat Engineers Metal Sign From Remagen Bridge Vet Bringback

This just came out of the woodwork a week ago. It is a large and rather heavy metal sign painted white in the shape of the Army Engineers insignia. The man I got it from was given it by a vet of the 291st Combat Engineers. I was told that this sign was handmade and mounted onto the Remagen bridge(whether that means the Ludendorff bridge or the bailey bridge that they built I am unsure) by the engineers working there at the time of the bridge's capture. When the unit moved on, the vet u...nbolted it and took it with him. He displayed it on his barn until he went into a nursing home and subsequently passed. It measures 20 inches wide and 13 inches tall. Looks like it might have be cut from some salvaged steel plate. Has original white paint and some rust. Hand marked on one corner "Remagan bridge 1945".
