Here is an antique, elegant, hand-carved wooden Buddha statue mounted on a thick wax base. Stands 8 inches high including base. What makes this figure unique among carved Buddhas is the metal halo, which is affixed to the back. The figure's eyes are open, the face serene. 
The lettering on the back is most likely the signature of the artist. The white oxidization has given the figure even more character over the years. The dignity of a survivor. See photos for a closer look at ...the delicate hand-painted designs on the robe.
