Extremely Old Antique Raw Bronze Hindu God Sculptures - Possibly Ancient
This extremely old Hindu gods have such a fascinating charm of their own
I bought 2 off these both listed for myself really because I just loved them and they were bought from a deceased estate from a person who used to collect anything of great value. A bit of a hoarder so I was told.
I am so very nervous about listing them because I think they may be worth an absolute fortune ...;
I could be very wrong but I just have that in-cling about these
By the way there is no such thing as an antiques dealer who knows absolutely everything about everything
So NO - am not at all embarrassed to confess when I am unsure about something
These have such amazing appeal because of the very raw way in which they were obviously made which indicates they are extremely old
They also have the greening of the bronze which takes many years to develop and only adds value to any bronze Item
They are very heavy and solid bronze .
They are just as found and look like they have been excavated from the ground at some point
The underneath base of these have what I assume to be clay inside the lower base
This may just be the way they used to make these but would certainly help to date these if taken to a archaeologist
I would really love someone who may know anything at all about these to help me date them and just to tell me about their history
I would not remove any clay or dirt if bought as this will help date these very rare sculptures
This statue has 4 heads and this one has 4 arms holding symbolic items which represent thought or meditation within hinduism
I just keep looking at them and something tells me never to ever sell them but anyway I suppose In listing them I may find out more about them
I do know for a fact these are extremely old - How old though I don't know -They just look very ancient to me - I did pay a lot for these and there were many others after them as well
I just wish I knew more and could be more definite about these amazing religious god sculptures
This one is 7" Tall x 5.5 " Wide
I absolutely adore these and not bothered if they don't sell because i am convinced they are worth a lot of money as in thousands but anyway - Here goes
