OK - This one is for looks. The rewinds work. The splicer works, and is complete with scraper and cement bottle (empty.) The viewer works - but it's not a VIEWER with shutter. It just projects 1 frame of film into the gooseneck lens. People will be amazed! Women Faint - Men Weep - Children walk away shaking their heads. A massive ...13 inches wide. (OK - that's a bit Barnum & Baileyish. THE GREATEST EDITOR ON EARTH!)
(Don't tell anyone, but I saw one on display at Christys Film Supply in Burbank.) Hundreds $
Makes a great Stylish Film Editor, Conversation Piece, and Display. Mostly Display. In your Bookcase.
By the way, a client of mine - a University Film Library just informed me about a Film Preservation Product that has been re-introduced to the market after being discontinued 25 years ago. "VitaFilm" is a special Oil-Based Solvent that cures "Vinegar Syndrome." Removes the smell, and stabilizes the base film. It can be applied with "Webril Wipes" or in really bad cases, you put your reel in the wide side of a film can, and soak it. (Unfortunatley they say it dissolves tape splices....) But They say it works wonders. Unfortunately I don't sell it - but you can find it online eBay. Tell everybody you know in film about it!
