Up for auction is this Nancy Ann Story Book JOINTED LEG bisque doll from the Mother Goose Series produced in the 1940s. He is "Little Boy Blue" and is numbered #115. He wears his original gold foil label on his left wrist. He measures 5 1/4" (13cm) tall. His back is marked Story Book Doll USA 11. The doll is shown on page 129 of the Nancy Ann Vol 1 Encyclopedia.
This bisque doll is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, or repairs. There is no residual glue on his face or chips on his painted shoes. Both his arms and legs are jointed and hold a pose. He has the slim tummy. His clothing is in excellent condition. It's clean with no holes, no odors, no fading and no tears. The doll's hair looks nice.
The doll is wearing ivory satin pants with a matching ivory satin shirt. His shirt collar and cuffs are accented with white spiderweb lace. His pants are secured in the back with a small brass safety pin.
He will come carefully packed in a Nancy Ann blue dotted box with the "Little Boy Blue" label. The box is in fair condition. It is structionally sound with no rips or tears. The box shows discoloration and soiling due to age. The inside of the box is clean.
When I ship dolls that don't have a box, I don't wad up the dress. I carefully pack each doll to keep their dresses as full and as unwrinkled as possible.
