This auction is for an original antique Singer Red Eye Model 66 treadle sewing machine head. The machine he...ad is being sold for parts or repair. We have not tested/threaded this machine or tested any of its components and therefore do not know whether or not it sews well. The machine appears to be in working order and seems to function smoothly with the rear large wheel spinning effortlessly with one finger. The machine is marked SINGER. THE SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. The serial number on the top of the base appears to read G1199557. According to a Singer serial number database we found online, the serial number indicates that this is a Model 66 that was produced in 1911. The machine does not come with a belt, instructions, attachments, or anything other than what is in the photos. The machine does come with a needle, a bobbin, and the original hinges. The graphics throughout the machine vary in condition and look to be in poor to fair shape overall. The machine and its components also vary in condition throughout and have aging, fading, discoloration, scratches, nicks, dings, wear, rust, general wear, and dirty and/or stained areas. The black paint/finish has scratches, nicks, dings, wear, fading, discoloration, missing paint, chips, crackling, crazing-like wear, and dirty and/or stained areas. The metal and/or nickel-colored components on the machine have aging, wear, fading, rust, pitting, discoloration, and dirty and/or stained areas. The base of the machine measures roughly 14 9/16” x 6 7/8” not including the hinges. The machine head is heavy weighing roughly 25 lbs 2 oz.
