This is a wonderful Chinese shiwan pottery figure of a standing immortal - Ti Tieguai, decorated with a wonderful turquoise, grey and purple flambe glaze. He is leaning on his staff and srtanding on a swirling wave base with a cloak over one shoulder. CHINESE FLAMBE-GLAZED SHIWAN FIGURE OF LI TIEGUAI, 19TH CENTURY Description This is a wonderful Chinese shiwan pottery figure of a standing immortal - Ti Tieguai, decorated with a wonderful turquoise, grey and purple flambe glaze.
He is leaning on his staff and srtanding on a swirling wave base with a cloak over one shoulder. He has a sash with a double gourd attached to his waist. Signed to the reverse by the artist in raised characters.

Height 13 in (33 cm).
The head has been re-attached, a chip to the top of the gourd, some loss of glaze to his shoulder and sleeve and a firing crack to the base.
