You are admiring a very longtime favorite of mine & highly coveted by collectors worldwide, the famous Latiaxis mawae (Griffith & Pidgeon, 1834), w/operculum, measuring a very nice 42.4mm and graded F+++...a miraculous deep H2O specimen that displays an exceptionally gorgeous sculptured form & an amazing spire formation. This beauty was trawled at 200-400m offshore Taiwan. A member of the Coralliophilidae family, which includes Latiaxis, Babelomur...ex, & Rapa...a rapidly growing family as new deep H2O species are coming to light.
