This Japanese sake cup dates to around 1905-1906, and comes in its original wooden case. The design on the inside depicts an Order of the Golden Kite medal, while the larger writing around the outside says something like, "Victory Over Russia Commemoration" (the Russo-Japanese War was waged over 1904-1905). The smaller writing on the outside says, "Made by Nishimura -- Kyoto".
There is general wear and dustiness, with some smudges, but there is no significant structural damage t...o the cup. The case is in very poor condition, however, with one missing side, one detached side, much damage to the tying cords, and much wear, dustiness, and staining.
