KANGXI Chinese Porcelain Plate Dish Blue and White figurative decoration. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
PLEASE NOTE THIS DISH HAS BEEN RESTORED. There are no major losses but the plate was previously broken into 11 pieces and a number of smaller pieces. The plate was restored to museum standards by student graduate, using current conservation methods and materials. All of the sherds are correctly aligned and bonded and the break edges have been filled usin...g dry ground pigments mixed with conservation grade resin to match the colour of the original. Although there is extensive restoration it is only visible on the front surface in raking light and from more than a foot distance away it is not visible. On the reverse surface some of the fills are slightly visible by colour. This plate displays really well and might offer somebody the opportunity to own a nice piece of Kangxi porcelain for a much lower cost than a perfect piece. I have a treatment report available for this plate, this can be made available if required.
Beautiful finely potted, large Kangxi plate with deep well and a narrow lip. decorated with blue and white under-glaze pattern depicting figures with a floral motif bordering the rim. there is minor fritting to the rim, typical of this age porcelain.
