Antique 1/6 Plate Tintype In Rare Civil War Union American Flag Photo Case

I have for sale a 1/6th plate tintype or ambrotype in a rare American Flag gutta percha case. I believe this is a Civil War Union case.
The case is in terrific condition. The only things I notice is some of the gilt has worn off from the flag, and the one corner is peeling away ever-so-slightly. I have provide photos of all this below.
The photo features a well dressed man in a suit sitting on a chair. It appears he has a bandage on the end of his left middle finger. I thought it... was a cigarette at first, but the more I view it I believe it is a bandage.
