ARGHYA GARDENS

Commiphora myrrha Seeds

You are bidding on truly rare seeds. Commiphora myrrha is difficult to find and is endangered where it is grown in war zones near it's native habitat. We feel obligated to reproduce these plants for two reasons: preservation and research. We hope you as a buyer will consider doing the same.

Commiphora myrrha enjoys a sunny location, and a mix of 50% potting soil to 50% Perlite or very small stones (1/8"). Although it p...refers dry conditions, don't let it go entirely dry. Where freezes may occur, please consider keeping it in a pot and mobile. Bring it inside. We fertilize with Miracle grow once each month during the growth period, add a side dressing of 10-10-10 and a teaspoon of Osmocote.

Plant as you would any other seeds. Soil environment should be warm and the soil moist, but not wet. Do not overwater!
When four true leaves appear, remain vigilant by providing adequate light and monitoring soil moisture.
When plants have become rootbound, transfer to a 4" pot filled with a mix of Perlite, potting soil and about 25% coarse sand.
Keep plants in a sunny, warm location. Protect from freezing. Nothing less than 40 degrees. C.myrrha is a resilient tree and resists insect or fungal damage.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE!

There are 3 seeds in the pack.

Please Note
We will not ship these seeds internationally.

Welcome to the 2019 season of new seed offerings and seed crosses from Arghya Gardens. As many of you know, we produce hybrid seed for Brugmansia, Hibiscus, Passiflora and Amaryllis. We do so for a number or reasons. First and foremost of those reasons is saving the serious hybridizer time and financial investment. Many hobbyist hybridizers wish to create new hybrids, but lack funds for obtaining all of the quality plants they need to indulge their pursuit. Others wish the process of creating hybrid seed themselves wasn't so time consuming. As it may take a full season to hand pollinate and obtain the resulting seed, that season of time doing so is, in a sense, lost to the individual anxious to see final results.

As hybridizers ourselves, we sought a faster way to deliver opportunities to our fellow plant enthusiasts.  In a sense, we decided to become a bridge between what can be imagined and what may result when one dabbles in plant genetics. Our seeds are the result of a meticulous process of hand pollination accomplished under controlled circumstances. We use the finest cultivars available, plants that exhibit outstanding growth and bloom characteristics. Over the years, our collection has become a fine one due in large part to the sensible reinvestment of funds received from the sale of their progeny. In a way, our customers, through us, have created a repository of horticultural opportunity from which they may indulge their creative energy.

These seeds represent a true saving of time - a most precious commodity when hybridizing is your passion. A season saved means faster production of new hybrids and faster, more efficient use of one's energy as it is expended producing those hybrids. Time is fleeting and the saving of it very reasonable. Many of the seeds we've sold over the years have produced established, named hybrids. So, with these thoughts in mind, we wish all participants in the program much luck and hope for success!

Hybridizing rights

Arghya Gardens relinquishes all rights to this seed's production and any resulting cultivars to you the buyer. Once it leaves our hands, it is yours outright. You own it and it's progeny. We neither ask for nor expect credit for it's production or plants resulting from it's propagation. Have fun. Create something glorious. Make it your own.

Most, if not all, of these seeds are one of a kind and should be viewed as heirloom seed. As a limited number of seeds are produced, their number disallows germination rate testing. You as a buyer must understand the unique nature of this seed before you elect to purchase. We collect and dry seed as quickly as possible, then post it shortly after. Generally, turnaround is between 7 to 20 days. This process gets the seed to you faster than the average and contributes to a higher rate of viability. We cannot guarantee every seed will sprout. Successful sprouting depends on a variety of factors: sprouting methods, soil, temperature, moisture, general care, etc. We therefore do not issue refunds for seed that fails.  Follow accepted sprouting methods for your individual species or variety. If you cannot plant your seeds immediately, we recommend you store them in a Mason Jar in your fridge until you plant. Cool seeds retain viability longer.

Domestic Shipping Of Seed

Our purchased seed is placed in a small ziplock bag with a label indicating the name of the seed. A second label of basic planting information is also affixed. The bag is sealed and, along with your paid invoice, placed into a Kraft padded envelope for mailing. If your seed order amounts to $40.00 or more, we will assign insurance at our cost. We combine seed orders, so feel free to ask for combination of seed purchases. If you do not ask, we ascertain how many packs we can reasonably and safely fit into the envelope.

We are not responsible for seed damaged in shipment, or seed lost in the mail. Once it leaves our hands, and insurance or delivery confirmation is assigned, matters concerning lost or damaged packages should be addressed to the USPS. Delivery confirmation and insurance information is included with your shipping receipt, so hang on to it just in case you need it.

International Shipping Of Seed

International shipment of seed is expensive and can be risky. We do ship internationally, but we cannot guarantee safe or timely delivery. As an informed buyer, you must be aware of a number of factors:

1. Are you allowed to grow this plant in your country?
2. What are your customs requirements for packaged seed entering your country from abroad?
3. Do you have to supply special shipping instructions to the seller?

We do not supply Phytosanitary documentation for seeds. If seeds cannot pass customs without Phytosanitary documentation, please do not purchase seed. Attempting mailings of seed requiring documentation without the required paperwork may result in destruction of the seed itself. We package our international seed shipments in the same manner as we do our domestic mailings. We will NOT send any seed in white envelopes as they may be crushed during the cancellation process. Our outlined responsibilities as stated for our domestic shipments and rights assigned, apply here as well
