Antique Elgin National Watch Co. Pocket Watch serial number 2220025. Made in 1887. This is a size 6s made with 15 jewels. This watch is in good working order. It sets using the slide out at the 5 o’clock mark. It winds just fine and has been keeping time for over an hour as I make this listing. There is a fast/slow adjustment inside to adjust for time loss/gain errors. As best I can tell, everything is working as designed back in the 1880’s.The latch for the face works perfectly we...ll as designed and all the cases snap closed snugly and securely. The hinges look to be in good condition and the spring opening mechanism works great. There is a little bit of hairline cracking on the white of the face of the watch between 10 and 12 as you can see in the photos. There is a monogram on the case, it looks like SG to me.The case is made of 18k gold and stamped as such. The case is hallmarked LB and then “Warranted 18k U.S. Assay”. The case has serial no. 19272.Please see all the photos for the best description of the condition that I can provide, and please contact me if you have any other questions about the piece. I’ll do my best to answer honestly and quickly. I am not an expert on watches though, so I can only give my best opinion.Total weight is about 73 grams. See my store for many more vintage and NOS items. I have about 50 more unlisted antique pocket watches at this time.Sales tax charged for all sales to CA addresses.
