This is an excellent Stereo card of a painting of President Abraham Lincoln and his first Cabinet (painted by Francis Bicknell Carpenter) showing Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War; Salmon P Chase, Secretary of the Treasury; President Abraham Lincoln; Gideon Welles, Secretary of the Navy; Caleb Smith, Secretary of the Interior; Montgomery Blair, Postmaster General; Edward Bates, Attorney General; and (in front) William Seward, Secretary of State. It was made by Keystone and is from the... very rare History 300 card set (the cards are numbered H1 to H300) from about the late 1930's. This set features many unique photos of people, places, events, and objects of importance in American History and contains many rare and unusual views that were not included in any other sets. This card is titled "Lincoln and His Cabinet. This View is Non-Stereoscopic." with a Keystone negative number of X229871 and a position number of H147. It is in excellent condition and measures 3 1/2" by 7”. The back of the card is printed with information about the subject. Stereoviews or Stereo Cards have two nearly identical images mounted side by side. When looked at through a stereo viewer they give a three-dimensional image. Most popular from 1854 to 1938, they were produced in vast quantities, and many are of historical interest. They usually measure about 3 ½” by 7”.
Domestic buyers (including Alaska, Hawaii, US Territories, APO, or FPO) to prepay $8.50 shipping and handling for insured Priority Mail (mailed in a box) or $4.75 for First Class Mail (mailed in an envelope between two pieces of cardboard). All shipping charges include tracking. Please add 9.50% California State sales tax if delivered to an address in California. First Class Mail to Canada is $13.50 and First Class Mail to the UK or most other countries is $18.00. Save on shipping by having multiple items shipped together.
