Items from an old French candlestick collection put together inthe 20th.century. Normandie region.
17th/18th.century brass hanging candle wall sconce.
A fine example in brass with good patina and age- related wear. The holder has a decorative pierced and fretwork top edge which has evidence of a burning candle, there is a slight loss to one of the loops. The reflector back has fine engraved concentric circles centred with a tiny round hole. It was hung by the top pi...erced loop which has reassuring signs of prolonged wear. The back is flat to facilitate it hanging against a wall. It would benefit from a good clean/polish.6.25 inches high. THIS IS A HEAVY QUALITY ITEM.
