For auctionis a vintage 1950's pen holder golf trophy with a gold toned golf figure on a rare marbled green Bakelite/Catalin/Marblette base.. Cast phenol formaldehyde trophy bases likethis were generally made in the 1950's and are cast out of what is usuallyreferred to as Bakelite but actually were likely sold under the trade name ofCatalin or Marblette. The figure and base are in quite good condition with minimal scratches, tarnishing and scuffs. There is no plaq...ue on the pen holder trophy but you may be able to add one. Green Catalin section is about 6 1/4" wide , about 3 1/4" deep and 7/16" thick. Golf figure is about 4" tall. It is heavy and solid and would makegreat desk or bookshelf art. If anyoneasks you if you won it you can say “I won it on eBay.” I may need to unbolt the figure and other sections for shipping so I canpack it properly but it is easy to reattach.
